Family Mark met
Lisa in 1995 while teaching a discipleship class in a 'twenty-something'
church and 2 years later they married. Together they have two
marvelous boys Rilee and Mason and a new arrival (as of Sept. 25th) a girl
named Haley. He
has only 1 sibling Sara (who is a wonderful mother and wife), as well as 8
in-laws and (more than) 15 nephews and nieces. His
parents Steve and Marilyn reside in Ft. Wayne, as does all of his
immediate family. Faith Mark accepted Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Savior as a young boy in the 1970’s, and was
raised in the Church all of his life.
His father was the elder of Doctrine and Reconciliation at a large
church in the area for nearly 20 years.
As a teenager, Mark walked away in rebellion.
But Christ, being faithful, drew him back.
In 1994, Mark rededicated his life to Christ and a year later began
working with youth as a Sr. High Youth Pastor.
Mark’s father strongly instilled in him the desire to have
‘Reasoned Faith’, to “Know why you believe what you believe and be
able to explain it to others”; Mark began to do this very thing with the
youth. He began to rekindle
his interest in Philosophy, Theology, Apologetics, Prophecy, and History
to help him in conveying the Truth to others.
He shares Darren’s favorite authors, as well as: C.S. Lewis,
J.R.R. Tolkien, Phillip Johnson, George Orwell, and Frank Peretti. Interests One thing that Mark
loves more than all of his other hobbies is Martial Arts (see below for
more detailed info on this). He
loves firearms and hunting, camping, canoeing, cooking, computers, and
photography most of which he was inspired to enjoy by his father who is an
avid outdoorsman. He also
enjoys spending time with his friends and has never been known to be at a
loss for words or an opinion!
